Advice to Patients - Coronavirus - Update
7 February 2020

Following further information from PHE, we are issuing guidance to our patients regarding what they should do if they become unwell. Patients who have returned from mainland China in the last 14 days and feel unwell are being advised to call NHS 111 for advice. Modality surgeries are not able to give advice nor arrange any tests. Patients are also being directed to information on our website https://modalitypartnership.nhs.uk/self-help

If you have any concerns regarding what to say to patients, please speak to a member of your management team.

Welcome to Ship Street Surgery

Boots at Ship Street Surgery are due to close its doors on the 6th March. Boots have chosen not to renew their lease with the surgery.

We are unable to have another pharmacy on the site due to limited pharmacy licences in the town. These can be transferred with the pharmacist and do not link to the site. No new pharmacy licenses can be granted for East Grinstead town.

We understand this is a great inconvenience for our patients but this is beyond our control.

We are really sorry but the surgery is not able to accept new patients. If you are finding it dificult to find a GP in the town, please contact Horsham and Mid Sussex CCG on 01293 600300 extn 3228 or email  hsccg.hmsx-patallocation@nhs.net who will help you.

Ship Street is doing it very best to look after our 11,559 patients

Ship Street along with the other East Grinstead Practices are struggling with increased demand. There are many reasons for this demand. Increased development of the town and surrounding area; patients living longer with many long term health needs etc. We along with the other practices have been trying to recruit doctors but note there are something in the region of 60+ vacancies in Sussex/Surrey area. This has resulted in all the practices putting a hold on taking new patients and we are very sorry if you have been affected.
